Laminated Veneer Lumber, or LVL’s, are used for permanent structural applications including beams, headers, lintels, purlins, truss chords and formwork when strength is important. Laminated veneer beams and headers eliminate twisting, shrinking and splitting. Because they have no camber and strength is consistent throughout, LVL products have no top or bottom side which provides flatter, quieter floors and roofs. LVL’s are stronger and more stable with a higher strength-to-weight ratio than conventional solid sawn lumber. Multiple pieces (typically used in pairs) can be fastened together to obtain greater thicknesses resulting in a greater strength than comparable Glulam or dimension lumber products. Faces and edges are pressure sprayed with a UV inhibitor and sealed with emulsified wax to protect against moisture during the construction project. LVL’s are easily worked with conventional wood working tools. For use in covered dry conditions only. • Common applications include: Beams, I-joists, door and window headers, stair stringers, ridge beams, cantilevered roof supports and other carrying beams.• Features & Benefitso 2.0 strength value, highest in the industryo No Camber - Flat floor; no installation errorso Dimensional Stability - Reduces inspection time and rejectso Wide Width - Speedier installation; eliminates need for bolting or nailing• Available sizes: 1 ¾” x 11 7/8”, in lengths from 12’ to 48’.
