Dear Zac,
We are writing this testimonial because we feel it’s important to share how much our relationship with you and Barn Pros has meant to us. Not only did we get a beautiful and very strong building, but you have answered our questions, provided support, and sending the doors after Hurricane Ike destroyed the original ones, was above and beyond. We appreciate it so much. You guys are great! Here’s our story…
We live on 20 acres of unique property (used to be a rice field) in Southern Texas. We have several horses and fell in love with the look and romance of the Barn Pros barns – a perfect fit with our new custom home. What we didn’t know then is that we were purchasing more that just a beautiful barn, we were entering into a relationship with a terrific group of people (plug here for Zachary and Summer) and a top notch company!
In 2005, we purchased our barn and upon delivery we started the construction process. We dug holes, poured concrete, set the poles, and even got the decking completed. Next thing we knew, we were evacuating the property because of Hurricane Rita. We loaded up our horses and spent 40 hours trying to get to Dallas (normally 6 hours away). Hurricane Rita tore through our property with sustained winds of 110 mph and gusts of 135 mph for hours on end – followed by several tornados. One week later, we returned to the property to find our metal shop demolished and a portion of our 3-month old home gone. The poles and decking for our new barn were just as we left them, straight and sturdy, no damage at all.
In 2006, we completed the construction of our barn, and we couldn’t love it more. Everyone loves our barn. People are always admiring our barn and stopping to ask questions about it. They love our barn, we love our barn! Thank goodness, no storms this year – yeah!
2007 brought us Hurricane Umberto with sustained winds of 80-90 mph and gusts up to 110 mph. Again, there was significant damage to our house, the shop was destroyed, but the barn was perfect. No damage at all, not even the doors. Our builder said, “If there is another storm, you should take shelter in that barn.”
Just as construction of our other buildings finishes up, 2008 rolls in with tropical storm Eduard with buckets of rain and sustained winds of 80-90 mph for hours and hours. Still no damage to our beautiful barn. Side note: all of the previous storms and hurricanes were hitting us from the North, but not Hurricane Ike, it came at us from the South East, which is why we think the barn had any damage at all. We quickly evacuated to SE Louisiana this time, and wouldn’t you know a tornado touched down less than 5 miles from where we were staying. What are the chances?
Hurricane Ike was a major category 2 hurricane with documented winds of 115-120 mph for hours (10-12) and gusts up to 135 mph. The following day, the winds were still raging in the 60-70 mph range. When we were able to return to the property, we found damage to the other end of our house, the shop again, and very minimal damage to our barn. Only a few shingles from the dormer, the carriage lanterns, and three of the breezeway doors were damaged…one door was still hanging. The cupola was intact, the hayloft doors were fine, and none of the siding was missing. We do have to re-paint. The stall mats were tossed all around the inside of the barn like they were welcome mats on your front porch. Not sure if you’ve picked one up, but they weigh over 100 pounds each.
In closing, our barn has survived three hurricanes and several tropical storms with little to no damage. The strength and beauty of the barn is amazing. When we called to order the replacement doors, you did everything you could to get them to us as quickly as possible. Zac and Summer were jumping through hoops to expedite the order and have been just fabulous to work with. The endless support continues to blow us away (no pun intended…). We would absolutely buy another Barn Pros barn…our only regret now, is that we didn’t buy a bigger one. You guys are great!
Thank you for making a difficult situation a little brighter for us.
Best Regards,
